Contrary to popular belief, print is not dead. There is more printed word consumption today than in the past. The only difference is where, and how we view it. Newspapers most heavily consumed in the morning hours between 6 and 10:00 AM with an average hourly reach of about 3% of media consumed during the same period. Even though magazines have seen a dip in circulation of around 33% in the past ten years, many industries still benefit from the use of this medium. According to DMA’s 2015 Response Rate Report, an average direct-mail strategy provides a 3.4% response rate. This rate can increase with a well thought out CTA “call to action,” and the personalization of a URL (PURL) or landing page.
